Handbells is only one of the many music programs offered at Northside Christian School. The Eyrie Overtones are made up of players who enjoy serving the Lord and are dedicated to the group. Handbells are offered for students in the 6th grade and continue on through High School. There is the technical side of handbells that includes learning how to ring the bells, counting the rhythms, and staying together with the rest of the group. There is also a fun side of handbells that consists of fellowshipping with friends and traveling for competitions. A good portion of the school year is spent in preparation for competitions all over the United States. Northside’s handbell groups have placed at both the state and national levels! The Eyrie Overtones have several opportunities to serve in ministry. They play at nursing homes, churches in the area, school concerts and even the local mall. Being a part of handbells is a great way for students to use their talents for the Lord.
